In partnership with KKTC Education (RTO# 40636) we are pleased to offer eligible individuals an opportunity to complete their CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care and their CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care as a trainee with Explorers.

Certificate III of Early Childhood Education and Care

Program details:

  • Apply any time.
  • Workplace-based and online study combined with full-time work in one of our Centres located across Victoria.
  • Higher wage than Traineeship Award rates.
  • Support from both the training organisation and from Explorers Early Learning.
  • Learning materials provided.

What will my week look like as a trainee?

During your traineeship, you will work with young babies, toddlers or kindergarten children at an Explorers Centre on a full-time basis, gaining a broad range of experiences in a supportive and collaborative environment.

You will have structured withdrawal time over the month, which will be used to:

  • Complete planning
  • Complete self-directed study
  • Participate in development opportunities including team meetings
  • Complete tasks that relate to your learning but sit outside of your usual roles and responsibilities

Your trainer will visit you every 3-4 weeks, but you will have opportunities to contact them and ask questions at any point in time. The rest of your online studies must be completed in your own time outside of work.

Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

Program Details:

  • Workplace-based and online study combined with full-time work in one of our centres (part-time also considered on a case-by-case basis).
  • Structured withdrawal time
  • Support from both the training organisation and from Explorers Early Learning.
  • Learning materials provided.

What will my week look like?

During your traineeship, you will work at an Explorers Centre on a part-time or full-time basis, gaining a broad range of experiences in a supportive and collaborative environment. You will have structured withdrawal time over the month, which will be used to:

  • Spend time with your trainer
  • Complete planning & self-directed study
  • Participate in development opportunities including team meetings
  • Complete tasks that relate to your learning but sit outside of your usual roles and responsibilities

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is eligible?

To be eligible for our Traineeships, you must be a permanent team member and be one of the following:

  • An Australian citizen
  • An Australian Permanent Resident
  • New Zealand passport holder with at least 6 months residence in Australia and be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check (employee).

KKTC Education (RTO# 40636) are a registered training organisation specialising in providing high-quality training to elevate your Early Childhood Education career.

Can I do the course if I'm a casual employee? 

Unfortunately, to be eligible for a traineeship you must be a permanent team member.

When do I have to apply?

Now! You’ll be contacted about an interview shortly after you submit your application.

What incentives are available? 

As a trainee you may be eligible to receive incentives from the government.

This will be confirmed by our apprenticeship provider upon your registration.

Where are the traineeships based?

You will have the option of applying to work at any of our centres located across Melbourne.

Please indicate in your letter of application which centre location you prefer and if there are any others that you are happy to consider.

When does the traineeship start?

You can start your Traineeship at any point during the year.
