Essendon Centre Overview
Explorers Essendon – proudly rated as Exceeding the National Quality Standard
Located at Lincoln Road, our early learning centre at Essendon is a place where children can grow and develop their skills. With purpose-built spaces that accommodate different age groups such as a nursery for babies and preschool kindergarten areas, we’re able to create a warm and inviting space for every child. We follow the Reggio Emilia approach to education for all ages and took inspiration from it in building our central piazza, an area where little ones can come together and build a strong sense of community.
Our entire Essendon childcare centre is designed to keep children active. Outdoors, we have a beautifully landscaped garden where they can freely move and discover new things. Indoors, we have interactive learning areas that encourage creativity and promote collaboration. Plus, with an in-house chef preparing fresh, healthy meals daily, parents can rest assured knowing that their child is being nourished both physically and mentally.

What makes Explorers Essendon Unique
At Explorers, we know how important early education is, so our daycare at Essendon follows a Framework of Joy which focuses on making learning fun. Through our learning for life program, we get to lay the foundation for essential life skills that prepare little ones for the next chapter of their lives.
Here’s what sets us apart from other childcare centres in Australia:
- Tailored Learning Spaces – Our spaces offer the right mix of sensory spaces that cater to babies all the way to toddlers and preschoolers.
- Engaging Playgrounds – We make sure our outdoor spaces encourage exploration so children can develop their physical and social skills.
- Holistic Nutrition – We make sure we serve healthy, nutritious food that nourish little minds and bodies with an in-house chef who prepares fresh meals everyday.
- Passionate Teachers – Our educators are passionate about what they do and they create personalised experiences through our curriculum that nurtures each child’s potential.
- Sustainable Learning – We want to instill the importance of caring for the environment early on, so we integrate eco-friendly practices into our everyday activities.

I have been to many centres, either as a student doing placement or as a casual employee, and this one, is definitely the best! From the start, the vibe here has always been so positive and supportive. The management team is amazing – they genuinely care about us, and it’s clear they prioritize our mental health and well-being. They’re always understanding and do their best to accommodate any needs, which makes such a difference to the overall work environment. When you feel supported, it’s so much easier to do your best and give the kids the care they deserve. Thank you Ferah, Ash, Jordan, Simone, Jess🥺 I will miss you guys
Speaking of the kids, the level of care here is incredible. There’s always enough staff in each room, and sometimes extra hands to help out. I’ve been to places where the bare minimum staffing ratios were NOT even followed (sadly), and it’s honestly very stressful. But at Explorers Essendon, there’s always time to connect with the kids, get involved in their activities, and really engage with them. The team is patient, caring, and always there for the kids – even on the busiest days. From a psychology student perspective, seeing every child receives the individual attention they need is incredibly rewarding, as I know how important early childhood is in shaping their development and future wellbeing.
I remember walking in on my first day, not knowing how to change a nappy, and the staff were so patient and kind, teaching me everything step by step. Now, I feel confident and capable with kids of all ages, and I’ve grown so much during my time here. As I get ready to leave, I just want to say thank you to everyone at Explorers Essendon. It’s been such a rewarding experience, and I’ll always remember the lessons, the support, and the love I’ve received here. If you’re thinking about joining this centre, you won’t regret it.
🥺❤️

Explorers Essendon seems like the place to be!
Ash, Jess & Jordan run a great centre. Jess C (Gumnuts), Erin (Pobbles) Esha & Jazz (Wattles) have been such warm, gentle educators for us, helping us go with the flow of early childhood; we have no doubts about keeping our son here for kindergarten.
We’ve made some lifelong friends thanks to this brilliant daycare community.
