Nutrition
We believe that a nutritious diet is essential for children's health and wellbeing. Our qualified Centre Chefs prepare meals daily for our Little Explorers as part of our seasonal menu. Our menu is approved by Nutrition Australia, and we cater to a range of allergies and intolerances, ensuring that every child's dietary needs are met.
We understand that food is an important part of culture and community, and we aim to create a positive and inclusive mealtime environment where children can enjoy and learn about healthy eating. Our children are fed progressively throughout the day, with morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late fruit snack, providing them with the energy they need to grow, learn and play.
Allergies and Dietary Preferences
We understand there are many children with food intolerances and minor to severe food allergies under our care. Only food prepared by our Chefs is provided to protect children with allergies and intolerances.
We kindly ask that no outside food is brought into our Centres. Alternative menus are available to accommodate allergies and dietary requirements. Common alternatives are dairy free, gluten free and vegetarian.
Nuts and eggs are not used in any of our meals. Water and milk are available throughout the day, and we offer soy, oat, rice or coconut milk as alternatives to cow’s milk.
A Typical Day
We believe in a progressive approach to mealtime, allowing children flexibility to make healthy eating choices and to listen to their bodies.
Early birds enjoy a nutritious breakfast, typically cereal, Weetbix or wholemeal toast with salt reduced spreads.
Morning tea is then served progressively which is rich with fresh fruits, yogurts and purees.
We find that lunch is the little one’s favourite meal of the day – and for good reason! Our lunch options are full of protein and paired with pastas, rices, stir-fries, spaghettis, tacos and so many more. Additionally, there are ample plant-based alternatives, and we cater for those with food allergies, intolerances, preferences, cultural needs and individual health requirements.
Afternoon tea is then served after play time. This is a wonderful opportunity for the children to gather over muffins, fruit platters, veggie sticks, yogurt or sandwiches (just to name a few)!
A late snack is served for the little ones prior to pick up, which typically consists of fresh fruit, veggies and rice cakes.
