Explorers Tarneit – proudly rated as Exceeding the National Quality Standard
Finding the right early learning centre is a big decision, especially when you’re looking for a place that supports your child and who they’re becoming. At Explorers Tarneit, we support every stage of early development, from toddler care to our preschool and kindergarten program. Children thrive in our shared indoor spaces, with this experience extending outdoors, where they can climb, run, and explore.
The Reggio Emilia approach shapes everything we do—from how we teach to our central piazza, where children can connect, share ideas, and feel part of something bigger. And with an in-house chef preparing nutritious meals, we help keep their minds and bodies sharp. Our childcare in Tarneit is led by our experienced educators, who create a place where your child feels valued, supported, and excited to learn, every single day.

What makes Explorers Tarneit Unique
When it comes to the best childcare centres in Australia, there’s a big difference between just learning and a place where care and connection come together. We offer both. At our early learning centre in Tarneit, we combine the Reggio Emilia philosophy with our own learning for life curriculum, supported by our framework for joy program—the foundation for everything that we do.
Here’s what we offer:
- Tailored Learning Spaces — From a warm, welcoming nursery full of sensory experiences to toddler and kindergarten rooms that encourage exploration and conversation, each space supports how children learn at every stage.
- Engaging Playgrounds — Our outdoor areas invite children to move freely, make discoveries of their own, and connect with others, offering plenty of room to climb, create, and take on new adventures each day.
- Holistic Nutrition — Part of our staff is an in-house chef who prepares nourishing meals to keep kids energised and curious all day long. Mealtimes become moments of connection, where children try new foods and learn about healthy eating habits.
- Passionate Educators — Our educators at our daycare in Tarneit bring both heart and experience to make each day count. They guide and encourage, while still giving children the freedom to lead their own learning.
- Sustainability in Learning — Whether it’s recycling, gardening or using sustainable materials, we help children build a connection with nature from an early age. This teaches them how to care for the environment and understand its value.

Find Out MoreI was ready to pay for the extra time, but they didn't even charge me. So it was not clearly service and care and love for money. IT WAS PASSION. Which unfortunately I did not get anywhere as much.
Not to mention the food was amazing and nutritious, and there was always food saved when my son missed the morning tea time.
Its been at least 3years since my kids left from her, but cannot forget to thank you guys. Sorry I took so long to write a review.
LOVE YOU LADIES!
LOVE FROM ANNETTE & ANDREW (they haven't forgotten you guys either)
The center’s commitment to ACECQA guidelines was evident across all rooms, ensuring a high standard of care and education. Every detail was thoughtfully organized to support children's development, safety, and well-being. I still recall the poster near the cots emphasizing the importance of placing babies in the supine position (on their back) for safe sleep—just one example of the center’s meticulous attention to best practices. No wonder the center is rated Exceeding NQS (National Quality Standards), excelling in most quality areas.
Sheila, the center manager, ensured my induction and schedule were seamless, creating a welcoming and supportive environment from the start. Working across different age groups was equally rewarding. In the babies’ room, I observed how sensory exploration plays a crucial role in early development. With toddlers, I encouraged language growth and numeracy skills through interactive cooking and movement-based learning. With pre-schoolers, I helped foster independence and school-readiness by engaging them in hands-on projects, from baking to creative space-themed crafts.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone at the center who interacted with and guided me throughout this journey. (You all know who you are—you’ll always hold a special place in my heart.) A long-overdue thank you for helping me flourish and grow as an educator.
This placement has not only shaped my professional skills but also left me with lifelong memories. Explorer’s Early Learners is a center where children thrive and educators are truly supported. I highly recommend it to families and aspiring professionals in the field.
I've worked as relief as well as periods in other centres, and although a few of those sounded great in their blurb, it never transferred to practice, until I started here. Started by it's founder in response to not being able to find quality care with what she sought for her own child so she started her own, and that was enough of a success to spawn multiple centres across Melbourne. Yet it isn't a giant corporate entity where profit is ultimately in charge.
From someone on the inside, if you are seeking long day care for your child, this centre is well worth checking out with your child to see if it's a good fit. And if you're an Educator, staff is treated with respect and valued for their contributions, they are rated "Exceeding" so if that's a standard you strive to uphold you will probably like it here.
Explorer is a great place to work with flexible hours I would highly recommend working with Explorers.
I feel very glad to be a part of explorers family. Thanks to explorers.
