Find Out MoreThe center’s commitment to ACECQA guidelines was evident across all rooms, ensuring a high standard of care and education. Every detail was thoughtfully organized to support children's development, safety, and well-being. I still recall the poster near the cots emphasizing the importance of placing babies in the supine position (on their back) for safe sleep—just one example of the center’s meticulous attention to best practices. No wonder the center is rated Exceeding NQS (National Quality Standards), excelling in most quality areas.
Sheila, the center manager, ensured my induction and schedule were seamless, creating a welcoming and supportive environment from the start. Working across different age groups was equally rewarding. In the babies’ room, I observed how sensory exploration plays a crucial role in early development. With toddlers, I encouraged language growth and numeracy skills through interactive cooking and movement-based learning. With pre-schoolers, I helped foster independence and school-readiness by engaging them in hands-on projects, from baking to creative space-themed crafts.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone at the center who interacted with and guided me throughout this journey. (You all know who you are—you’ll always hold a special place in my heart.) A long-overdue thank you for helping me flourish and grow as an educator.
This placement has not only shaped my professional skills but also left me with lifelong memories. Explorer’s Early Learners is a center where children thrive and educators are truly supported. I highly recommend it to families and aspiring professionals in the field.
I've worked as relief as well as periods in other centres, and although a few of those sounded great in their blurb, it never transferred to practice, until I started here. Started by it's founder in response to not being able to find quality care with what she sought for her own child so she started her own, and that was enough of a success to spawn multiple centres across Melbourne. Yet it isn't a giant corporate entity where profit is ultimately in charge.
From someone on the inside, if you are seeking long day care for your child, this centre is well worth checking out with your child to see if it's a good fit. And if you're an Educator, staff is treated with respect and valued for their contributions, they are rated "Exceeding" so if that's a standard you strive to uphold you will probably like it here.
Explorer is a great place to work with flexible hours I would highly recommend working with Explorers.
