Choosing the right childcare is one of the most important decisions a family can make. At Explorers, child safety and wellbeing are embedded into every part of our practice, from secure entry systems and supervision procedures to the respectful, trusting relationships we build with every child. Our educators are trained in First Aid, CPR, asthma and anaphylaxis management, and our safety practices are supported by clear policies, regular risk assessments and a strong culture of care. Most importantly, we create environments where children feel emotionally safe, deeply supported and genuinely known.
At Explorers Nunawading, learning extends beyond the classroom. Children may take part in Bush Kinder, local excursions, incursions, music, movement, visual arts and community experiences that help them connect with the world around them.
“We've been an Explorers family for 3yrs now. The leadership and full time class staff in place now are the best we've ever had. They are warm, welcoming, thoughtful, creative and strategic. The facilities are wonderful and incursions are always enjoyed. We are very blessed to have this team influencing our children.”
“The most incredible childcare. The daycare staff are incredible - the activities they set up for the kids are amazing, from painting, to outdoor play, to cardboard constructions, coloured ice play. I know my daughter’s day is so enriched with activities that foster her development. The teachers are so caring - always taking my daughter out of my arms when I arrive knowing she struggles with the transition, doing gorgeous plaits in her hair, and engaging her in play! The constant updates via phone or app, the daily pictures, the learning updates and goal setting - it’s all amazing. The reception are always welcoming and helpful! The chef/kitchen always serving great food for the kids and even breakfast for families to take! And lastly, the safety which is so important - I feel so safe leaving my kid here. Anyway, highly recommend if you couldn’t tell!”
“Denise had breathed life into Nunawading Explorers. Through her leadership and team we've seen an incredible improvement of programs and initiatives like excursions and activities that our children absolutely adore. Her and her team have truly created a beautiful community of support and care. Parent committees and opportunities to connect with other families has made such an enriching experience for families outside of your standard childcare. The Explorers brand and especially the Nunawadings branch is our trusted village. Educators genuinely care for our children and its hard to come by. We could not recommend them enough.”

The education team provides a fantastic balance of outdoor messy play and structured learning. We have noticed such a positive and smooth shift in our child’s transition from home to childcare. The facilities are always clean and inviting. The educators are incredibly warm and attentive, creating a second home where our little one feels safe and loved. Highly recommend to parents looking for high-quality childcare in Eastern suburbs.”
