Nunawading Centre Overview
Explorers Nunawading – proudly rated as Meeting the National Quality Standard
At Explorers Nunawading, we’ve created a space where curiosity leads the way. Just off Springvale Road, our centre supports every stage of early development, from our toddler curriculum that builds independence, right through to our preschool kindergarten program where big ideas really start to take shape.
Our interactive indoor spaces are full of opportunities for discovery, conversation, and creative thinking—set up to support how children learn best at each stage. Beyond the walls, there’s room to roam, with outdoor areas that invite climbing and digging. Guided by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, our centre features a central piazza—a shared space that brings children together to talk and connect as part of a community.
And thanks to our in-house chef, freshly prepared meals are served daily, helping to fuel their day with nutritious food they’ll actually want to eat. Our childcare in Nunawading is more than just daily care; it’s a place where your child is valued, encouraged, and given the space to grow into who they are.

What makes Explorers Nunawading Unique
When it comes to early learning in Nunawading, we know there’s more to it than ticking developmental boxes. As one of the best childcare centres in Australia, our educators help children feel encouraged and free to grow at their own pace. Here’s how we make that happen:
- Room to Explore — From the sensory-rich nursery for babies to kindergarten rooms full of hands-on learning, every space is set up to match the way children learn at each stage. There’s room to move, time to pause, and plenty of moments to encourage growth.
- Play with Purpose — Our outdoor environments are made for movement and exploration. Whether they’re building, climbing, or planting something in the garden, children are encouraged to follow their interests, test ideas, and try new things at their own pace.
- Healthy, Delicious Meals — Fresh, healthy meals are prepared daily by our in-house chef, with plenty of variety and room for individual needs. Mealtimes are relaxed and social, where kids can share stories, try new flavours, and build healthy habits along the way.
- Educators Who Truly Care — Families tell us they feel the difference. Our educators bring warmth and a steady presence to each day. They guide learning thoughtfully, celebrate the little wins, and make sure every child feels heard and supported. It’s all part of our learning for life approach, shaped by a framework of joy that keeps curiosity at the centre.
- Learning That Connects with Nature — From using natural materials to caring for the veggie garden, sustainability is part of everyday life here. We help little ones understand their impact on the environment in ways that feel fun and age-appropriate.

Find Out MoreWe’ve already recommended Explorers to his cousin, who also joined and had a great experience. The food, learning resources, and the energy and care from the staff are all impressive. We’re very happy with Explorers and grateful for the positive impact it’s had on our child’s early development.
We toured at least six different centres, and Explorers stood out clearly above the rest. From the moment we stepped in for the tour, I noticed children joyfully engaged in play, surrounded by a truly enriching and thoughtfully designed environment. The way they interacted with the educators — as naturally and comfortably as they would with family — immediately put me at ease.
Explorers didn’t feel like a place to simply ‘drop off’ my child — it felt like a place where she would grow, learn, and be genuinely cared for. Every space, even the hallways, was filled with learning opportunities, creating a warm, welcoming, and stimulating atmosphere.
Now, a month into our journey with Explorers, we couldn’t be happier. Communication from the educators has been outstanding — with daily app updates, photos, routines, and learning highlights that help us feel connected to our daughter’s day. I’ve also been especially impressed by the team’s professionalism. From the very beginning, orientation was handled with care — a thoughtfully prepared welcome pack and a well-planned onboarding process set the tone, and that same level of attention has continued ever since.
Most importantly, our daughter has truly thrived. She now walks into the centre confidently, often straight into the arms of the educators — a beautiful sign of the trust and bond she’s built with them.
Thank you to Belinda, George, and the entire Explorers team. You’ve made my transition from full-time mum to working parent so much easier. Each day, I leave knowing my child is safe, happy, and thriving in your care.
What we love most is the strong sense of community and the genuine relationships built—not just between our children and their educators, but with our whole family. In the industry myself, I needed to find a centre where I felt confident leaving my children, and Explorers Nunawading has been that place.
Our children are not only well cared for, but feel connected, supported, and truly thrive in such a warm, welcoming environment. The educators support their social and emotional development, independence, and unique strengths. They also extend their learning through meaningful experiences—embedding sustainability practices and a deep appreciation for our First Nations people.
We are so thankful to have had the incredible team at Explorers be a part of our children’s journey and development. They listen to families, value feedback, and constantly strive to offer the best for the children and their community.
Highly recommend!
We’ve seen remarkable improvements in his motor skills, confidence, communication, and social interactions. The thoughtfully designed learning framework encourages him to explore, engage, and challenge himself in meaningful ways. His participation with other kids has noticeably increased, and we’re truly grateful for the positive impact this centre has had on him. The love & warmth given by the educators makes him so excited when we drop him off in the morning at the centre.
We wholeheartedly recommend Explorers to any family looking for a warm, high-quality early learning experience.
Taking the first step for us was such a daunting task but Explorers instantly put our mind at ease.
The staff have been incredible, so detailed with their plans for our child in group and individual development settings.
No question is too much to ask and constant support comes in abundance. I promise you that this place is truly the best to help your child grow.
Sincerely
Vidya K
