Learning for Life at Explorers Early Learning

Learning for Life at Explorers Early Learning

A curriculum designed for real learning, real confidence, and real life.

When you walk into an Explorers centre, you'll notice something straight away. Children are thinking, exploring, creating, problem-solving and genuinely enjoying the process. That's Learning for Life.

This is our approach to early learning that supports your child from their very first days in care, right through kindergarten and the transition to school. And while it might look like play (because it is), there's a clear intention behind everything we do.

What is Learning for Life?

Learning for Life is the curriculum that guides how your child learns at Explorers. Not a checklist. Not a one-size-fits-all program. It's a carefully designed approach that balances what we know works for children, with the flexibility to follow their natural curiosity.

At its core, Learning for Life is about intentional teaching, where every experience has purpose, and every child is seen as capable, curious, and full of potential.

Inspired by the globally recognised Reggio Emilia approach, it brings together research, experience, and what we know truly supports children to thrive.

Your child's learning is shaped through:

  • Meaningful play
  • Strong relationships
  • Thoughtfully designed environments
  • Educators who know when to guide, and when to step back

The result? Children who are confident, capable, and genuinely engaged in their learning.

How Explorers Children Learn: Our Four Phases

Every child learns differently, but there are patterns in how learning deepens over time. At Explorers, we guide children through four key phases:

Phase 1: children experiencing materials and environments
Phase 2: children assembling ideas and connections
Phase 3: children making and creating
Phase 4: children reimagining and refining their work

1. Experiencing

This is where it starts. Your child explores, experiments, and gets familiar with new materials, people, and environments. It's hands-on, sensory, and often a bit messy (in the best way).

2. Assembling

Now they begin connecting ideas. You'll see your child combining materials, noticing patterns, and building relationships with others. Learning becomes more intentional.

3. Making

This is where ideas come to life. Children start creating with purpose, building, designing, and expressing what they know. You'll see problem-solving, collaboration, and creativity in action.

4. Reimagining

Here's where it gets exciting. Children revisit ideas, refine them, and take them further. They think more deeply, challenge themselves, and approach learning with confidence.
